MEET JESSICA
SOMEONE WHO GETS IT
Jessica Seawright isn’t your typical candidate. For more than two decades, she has served her community. She started in the emergency room, helping people in crisis. Today, she develops neighborhood programs, leads statewide efforts to transform mental health care, and has spent thousands of hours as a therapist listening to everyone she serves.
When her son needed better access to community spaces, Jessica took action, securing a grant to make her local community garden accessible for people with mobility needs. Now she’s ready to take her commitment to action and service to Madison, where she’ll be the voice District 21 has been missing.
WISCONSIN VALUES
Jessica comes from a family that embodies Wisconsin values. Her grandfather was raised in the Great Depression in Minnesota and was a career-long Teamster truck driver. Her grandmother was raised in the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, part of the Lake Superior Band of Chippewa Indians. Her Marine veteran father, who served in Desert Storm, now relies on VA services. Her registered nurse mother worked through the pandemic in Oak Creek emergency rooms.
Four generations of veterans. Union members. Teachers. Small business owners. Nurses. Social workers. This is what Wisconsin families look like. Her spouse is an educator at UW-Whitewater, the state's largest teacher education program, who has seen firsthand what's possible when schools are fully funded - and what happens when they're not.
AS YOUR REPRESENTATIVE, YOU CAN COUNT ON JESSICA TO:
Actually listen to what you're saying, a skill honed from thousands of hours working in the field as a social worker
Show up at community meetings, school board sessions, and wherever decisions are being made
Pick up the phone when you call and work with local leaders to find solutions
Respect your privacy while using your input to guide her decisions
Give you straight answers about where she stands and what she can actually accomplish
Treating you with the respect you deserve, whether you agree with her on everything or not.
